As the situation around COVID-19 continues to evolve, I want to provide you with an update on how the Sacramento Valley Section (SVS) is responding.

The Sacramento Valley Section will not be holding any in-person meetings or events, consistent with APA CA’s email on March 17th, and per the guidance from the California Public Health Department (CDPH). This policy will be in place until CDPH changes its recommendations for public gatherings.

You can find more information and updates on COVID-19 on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website and the California Public Health Department (CPHD) website.

We are working to provide online alternatives where possible or will reschedule events that require in-person activity. Unfortunately, this applies not only to our SVS events, but to our Young Planners Group (YPG) and our PLAN program as well. You will be hearing from the YPG Chair and the PLAN Steering Committee soon on how this will impact their respective programs.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide regular updates, as necessary.

We hope that you remain safe and healthy during this time. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding.

Yassi Sarvian
Sacramento Valley Section Director, APACA
